The Saratoga Springs Police Department is warning area residents of a phishing email circulating that tries to get you to click on a scammer’s link. City Police say beware of an email with the subject line “Get Protected,” which contains the message that the Social Security Administration (SSA) is offering great new features to help taxpayers protect their personal information and identities.  It’s a scam. The Federal Trade Commission recently caught on to this scam and is asking for help in tracking down the culprits. You can read more about it at this government link, which is SAFE.  But for heaven’s sake, as far as phihsing scams work, DON’T click on this link.
