Saratoga Coffee Shop wins Super Bowl Sweepstakes

Death Wish Coffee Company, which hosts a café on Broadway in Saratoga Springs and features what the owners call “the world’s strongest coffee,” has won the QuickBooks’ Small Business Big Game Competition. A 30-second Death Wish Coffee commercial will be featured during the Super Bowl, on Sunday, Feb. 7. In August, owner Mike Brown decided to enter the competition--a vote-based contest that awards one small business a  commercial during football's biggest game. By December, the café solidified their position, placing among three finalists by virtue of having generated tens of thousands of votes, and rallying support from local and social media communities.

Brown started the Death Wish Coffee Company and began selling the highly-caffeinated organic coffee online in late 2011

As winners of the contest, the company has secured an expenses-paid, 30-second commercial during Super Bowl 50.

The ad, to be broadcast during the third quarter of the championship game, will be the only one to feature a small business and will be seen by more than 100 million viewers. Death Wish Coffee, based in Round Lake., was selected from more than 15,000 entries and hundreds of thousands of votes in the contest sponsored by Intuit Inc.
