City Council to update High Rock parking lot/garage status; Saratoga Hospital to present expansion plan

At Tuesday night’s City Council meeting, Mayor Joanne Yepsen will provide an update of work conducted by the High Rock Parking Lot RFP Technical Review Team. The ad hoc committee was organized to evaluate the three different plans on the table regarding the conversion of the High Rock paved lot, located behind the Saratoga Springs City Center. The meeting will get underway at 7 p.m. Tuesday with a presentation of the expansion of the existing Planned Unit Development (or PUD) at Saratoga Hospital. The hospital has proposed building an 88,500-square-foot, three-story structure with at least 300 parking spaces on a vacant 8.5-acre site located a few blocks away from its Church Street location. Some neighbors are concerned the project would overwhelm the residential area and lower property values, according to the Times Union. http://www.timesunion.com/business/article/Saratoga-Hospital-plan-draws-fire-from-neighbors-6692544.php

The council will host its pre-meeting 9:30 a.m. Monday at City Hall. The pre-meeting agenda may be viewed here: http://agenda.saratoga-springs.org/agendainternal/MeetingView.aspx?MeetingID=294&MinutesMeetingID=-1
