City Council convenes Tuesday - Saratoga Hospital expansion on agenda

Fresh off an Inauguration Day ceremony that will see each of its five members serve two-year terms, the City Council will host its first meeting of the year Tuesday night at City Hall. A public hearing related to Saratoga Hospital’s planned expansion will take place at 6:50 p.m. and precede the 7 p.m. meeting. The hospital has proposed building an 88,500-square-foot, three-story structure with at least 300 parking spaces on a vacant 8.5-acre site located a few blocks away from its Church Street location. Some neighbors have expressed concern that the expansion of the existing Planned Unit Development (or PUD), would overwhelm the residential area and lower property values. An update on the PUD expansion will be provided by hospital attorney Matt Jones during the meeting.

Separate public presentations will also be delivered on the Saratoga County Prosperity Partnership, and on the Saratoga Lake Protection and Improvement District.
